Seed Testing Package

Seed testing is an analysis of some physical parameter and physiological quality of a seed lot, based on small representative sample. Quality is the measure of potential performance of a seed lot under optimal conditions. Since seed is sold on weight basis, these seed quality parameters are essentially economic parameters. Testing procedures conducted with us will be based on International Seed Testing Association (1STA, 1985) rules.

Genelon offers following testing services

• Germination Test
          -   Determines maximum germination potential of seed lot under ideal growing conditions.
• Purity Test
          -   Percentage of purity of seed lot irrespective composition of other matter in the sample.
• Moisture Test
          -   Determine the moisture content of a seed samples.
• 1000 Seed Weight Determination
          -   Test determines the weight of 1000 seeds of a sample.
• Tetrazolium testing
          -   Biochemical test for quick prediction of seed viability. It enables to estimate the results of the germination test.
• Seed Health Test
        -   Test tells the Health status of the seed sample like whether the seeds are infected with pathogens or not. Seed borne inoculum may give rise to spread of disease in field and reduce the commercial value of the crop. Pathogens are detected and identified in laboratory seed health tests.
• Vigor Test
        -   Its sum total of all attributes, which resulted in quick, uniform and early emergence of seedlings even in unfavorable environmental conditions. This test differentiates a range of high, medium and low vigour seed quality
