  Blood Coagulation Tests

Blood Coagulation Tests

To evaluate problems arising due to excessive blood clotting (thrombosis) and sometimes due to insufficient clotting (haemorrhage), it is imperative to screen the coagulation activity by determining the level of specific blood clotting factors and measuring the time required for clot formation. Factor testing is required when inherited/acquired factor deficiencies, thrombosis, liver diseases are suspected, to ensure correct dosing and indication of anti-coagulation therapy (Eg.Warfarin), to assess bleeding risks prior to surgery and associated conditions.

We provide a range of fibrometer-based factor tests that include-

  • PT/INR (Prothrombin Time/International Normalized Ratio)
  • APTT (Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time)
  • PTT-LA (Partial Thromboplastin Time-Lupus Anticoagulant)
  • Thrombin
  • Reptilase
  • Factor I (Fibrinogen)
  • Factor II (Prothrombin)
  • Factor V (Proaccelerin/labile factor)
  • Factor VII (Proconvertin)
  • Factor VIII (Anti-haemophilic factor)
  • Factor IX (Christmas factor)
  • Factor X (Stuart-Prower factor)
  • Factor XI (Plasma thromboplastin antecedent)
  • Factor XII (Hageman factor)
  • Antithrombin III (AT III)
  • Protein C
  • Protein S
